Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method® is for anyone who wants to make the things they do easier, more efficient and pleasurable. Feldenkrais Method is a mind-body approach, which combines movement and awareness to help you move and live more comfortably and effectively.

Whether it is basic actions like sitting or walking, the daily demands of work and home, or your recreational activities – from painting and gardening to running or dance – Feldenkrais offers enjoyable and effective ways to improve how you move.

Injury, illness, pain, stress and the effects of ageing can diminish your capacity and the enjoyment of your movement - and your life. Feldenkrais classes and individual sessions allow you to rediscover lost abilities and pleasure in your movement. Our clients and students regularly report they feel relaxed, energized and a positive, new experience of their body!

What we offer

The Center

We opened our Center in 1988. It is the longest established Feldenkrais Center in the Bay Area. Our staff includes some of the most experienced practitioners in the world.

Movement, awareness, life...

Moshe Feldenkrais said, 'Movement is life.' Our movement through life depends on the coordination of thinking, feeling and sensing. Awareness of our responses and our possibilities allow us to respond appropriately to changes in our inner and outer environment. The Feldenkrais Method develops our ability to become aware of our movement and ourselves. Through this awareness, we can learn not only how to better coordinate your movement, but how to change habits of behavior and self-image.

Feldenkrais is an easy-to-do, practical approach to expanding your possibilities. The Method is named after its creator, Moshe Feldenkrais, DSc, an engineer and scientist who applied his experience of the martial art of Judo with his extensive of study of human movement to create this unique approach.
