San Francisco Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program

Begins January 2008. Additional enrolment opportunities April and August, 2008.

Our San Francisco Feldenkrais Teacher Training will combine the experience of the teachers both of the Institute for the Study of Somatic Education who conduct Feldenkrais trainings around the world, and of the Feldenkrais Center for Movement Education: the Bay Area's longest established center for teaching Feldenkrais Method to the public.

As a graduate of this training you will be able to practice as Certified Teacher of the Feldenkrais Method in your current professional field or as the beginning of new career. The program also offers you an opportunity to benefit from the Feldenkrais Method as a sophisticated and powerful source of personal growth and development.

Your class mates will be practitioners of physical medicine, psychologists, people from the performing arts; practitioners of Yoga, Pilates, and other forms of massage, movement and body work. Many people seeking a completely new direction in their work life also find what they are looking for.

Our faculty of experienced teachers includes Paul Rubin, Julie Casson-Rubin, Dennis Leri, Deborah Bowes PT, and Cliff Smyth. Each has years of experience in the education of Feldenkrais practitioners. Each has long experience, as well, in private practice working with people with injuries and disabilities, with children, and with people performing at the highest level in music, dance, theatre and sport.

The San Francisco training will provide in-depth education in the Feldenkrais Method and support for how you would like to apply this work in your life and the world. For many years, we have dedicated ourselves to creating and refining both the learning environment and the curriculum of our training programs. We emphasize personal contact and access to faculty year round.

The training is 40 days per year during January, April and August. Comprised of four training years, it will begin in January 2007 and will graduate in April 2011. Our training is fully accredited by The Feldenkrais Guild of North America and meets international standards.
